Five-time Emmy Award Winner, Andy Mitran started his career in music as a child. He went on to a fourteen year run as the Music Director and on-screen character Professor Andy for WGN television’s THE BOZO SHOW, TV's longest running children's television program. Since then, Andy has written hundreds of pieces for television including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Dr. Oz show, and the Nate Berkus show. In addition, he also composes for many currently streaming shows across several networks. 

 

As the co-owner of Mitran Mitran Music, Andy provides custom music composition, audio recording, editing and sound design for some of Chicago's biggest brands including the Bulls, Cubs, White Sox, WGN TV, and Empire Today. In 2010, Perfect Choice Music Library was launched and continues to license music for television and film. 

 

Andy's albums with songwriting partner and musician Al Jewer, were nominated six years in a row and have won two prestigious ZMR awards for Desert Light and Surrounding Sky. Since 2002 Andy has found great joy in helping artists manifest their art by recording, producing or mastering their records with them. He has also built and maintained recording studios for Rivet360 as well as many private studio owners. 

 

In 2017 Andy co-founded the Mindful Music Association (MMA) along with partners Al Jewer and Sherry Finzer. He currently serves as president. We provide sources of peaceful and calming music to populations that could benefit from their effects. The MMA has also commissioned an educational program to reach younger audiences through their teachers.
