Andy Mitran is a five-time Emmy Award–winning composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose musical journey began in childhood. He gained national recognition as the Music Director and on-screen character “Professor Andy” for WGN Television’s The Bozo Show, one of the longest-running children’s television programs in history.

Over the course of his career, Andy has composed and produced hundreds of works for television, with credits including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Dr. Oz Show, and The Nate Berkus Show, along with numerous programs currently streaming across multiple networks. As co-owner of Mitran Mitran Music, he has provided custom composition, recording, editing, and sound design for some of Chicago’s most iconic brands, including the Bulls, Cubs, White Sox, WGN-TV, and Empire Today.

In 2010, Andy co-founded Perfect Choice Music Library, which continues to license music for television and film worldwide. His long-running collaboration with Al Jewer has resulted in a celebrated catalog of albums, earning multiple industry nominations and two prestigious ZMR Awards for Desert Light and Surrounding Sky.

Beyond his own work as an artist, Andy is passionate about helping others bring their creative visions to life, having recorded, produced, or mastered countless projects since 2002. He also served as a founding board member and President of the Mindful Music Association from 2016 to 2024, a nonprofit dedicated to the conscious use of music to support mental health and emotional well-being.
